is needed to register and obtain a Georgia title and license plate for my "new"
vehicle?
- A completed MVD tag and/or title application, Form MV1 (see below)
This application should be typed, completed electronically
and printed or printed legibly by-hand in blue or
black ink in the vehicle owner's full legal
name and signed
by the vehicle owner. If jointly owned,
each owner's full
legal name, valid Georgia driver's
license or Georgia
identification card number and signature is required.

- If all owners go in person to their county tag office with their valid
Georgia driver's license or Georgia identification card, the vehicle's current
odometer reading (when an odometer disclosure is required), the required
proof of ownership (supporting) documents, proof of insurance, proof that
the vehicle has passed an emissions inspection (when required) and the applicable
fees and taxes, this application can be completed electronically and printed
for your signatures and processing.
- Proof of residency in Georgia, i.e. Lease agreement, deed or closing statement
for new residence, final utility bill etc
- Payment of all fees and taxes due.
