Continental recalls 390,000 Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks tires

Continental Tire recalls 390,000 Ford F-250 and F-350 truck tires, mostly used as original tires on 2008-2009 Models.

The recalled tires are TR Size LT275/70R18 125/122S Load Range E Black Sidewall ( DOT Serial Numbers: P515 46YB 4307 through P515 46YB 3708) and

Continental ContiTrac TR Size LT275/70R18 125/122S Load Range E Outline White Letters (DOT Serial Numbers: P515 46U0 1807 through P515 46U0 2308).

Continental says about 330,000 of these tires were used on new Ford trucks, and the rest were sold as replacement tires. According to the company, there was a fatal crash in January 2011, that involved the tires.

Continental says the possible contributing factors to this issue could be tires which are under-inflated, used under heavy load conditions or are exposed to higher-than-normal temperatures.

The company will replace the affected tires free of charge through October 15, 2011, including mounting, balancing and applicable taxes.

F-250 and F-350 Ford truck owners can call (888) 799-2168 for more information or send an email to [email protected]
