Auto Insurance: What is Comprehensive Coverage?

By AutoCrisis.com®

Comprehensive Coverage is that part of your auto insurance policy that covers you when your vehicle is damaged, but not, by a collision. Your insurance company may fix your vehicle using your comprehensive coverage when a covered incident occurs. Auto claims regularly covered by comprehensive losses include theft, fire, broken windshields, vandalism, wind and storm damages.

As with any auto insurance policy coverage, when you're getting a comprehensive coverage, you may purchase it with or without a deductible, however, you can save some money in your auto policy payments if you select a deductible.

As always, AutoCrisis.com suggests that you check with your Insurance Agent or provider first before you make a purchase decision, as to the amount, type and, level of auto insurance coverage you will need.
